APOLOGIES!! Ok, the joke is over. I've left this blank long enough. I must truly apologize for something. While my little, lone, ONE VOTE of support isn't much. Or my creation of a website, that once supported the election of our current Mayor, encouraging others to do the same. Is only a week small voice in a sea of shouting waves. I did support Don Williamson for Mayor. Yes, I did vote for him. I was caught up in the whole idea of government accountability. I have discovered, that he and I seem to have different meanings to many words that he used during his campaign. Accountability in his terms seems to mean: That they did what they were told! Or they are accountable for his best interest. Not necessarily the best interest of the City of Flint. This also doesn't seem to apply to any dept within his administration. No one holds Flint Police officers accountable for felons stealing guns, when the Police know who they are and where they are at. No one holds the GRANTS dept accountable for loosing 1.4 million in HUD dollars. I thought his idea of a race track "IN FLINT" was brilliant! Especially since, all the property along I-475 is now freed up and empty. I also thought the idea of bringing in a casino to flint, couldn't hurt. We've run most every other business away. A Casino could work. Especially "IN FLINT" These all turned out to be a way for him to promote his own business. By, actually bringing the jobs to Mt. Morris. Not, bringing them into Flint. Character and integrity. We definitely needed some of that in Flint. I never in a million years would have thought that this would have become "being a character" and not having any character. First he approves back pay for the City Council. After Mr. Kurtz retaliated against them for turning in the former Mayor to the State, for budget short falls. Then ignores the fact that HE approved it. To then point fingers at councilman and scream "They are stealing your money" Or the fact that in 2005, Flint had a MAJOR INCREASE in crime over the 2004 MAJOR INCREASE in crime. An easily verified fact that any intelligent person can look up on the City's website. Or there was the Federal Grand Jury investigations that were being performed by his own personal Federal Grand Jurist Sally Haywood. Also, why does it seem that we on the East Side of Flint are second Class citizens. When there are problems we want addressed. It is seen as trying to embarrass the mayor. (Trust me, we don't need to help him, he is doing just fine on his own.) The East Side Business association tried to bring attention to a long standing problem of the Pool at Williams' school. People building fires in the building, broken in doors and sewage in the pool areas. So the Mayor wants to sue them for trespassing. First the City doesn't want to take the responsibility for maintaining that area, and neither does the school district. So the Mayors solution? SUE THE MESSENGER! Instead of, taking an identified problem, creating solutions, then taking action. Then there is Greater Eastside Redevelopment Association. He wants to sue them, for the grants department loosing 1.4 million and not paying Greater Eastside, to finish a project. They cannot finish the project without the promised money!?! DUH!?! If this isn't just plain idiotic, and a complete waste of City resources, TIME AND MONEY, IT'S MY FAULT! BLAME ME! I VOTED FOR HIM! My Apologies to the City of Flint. |
