This is the Crime that got me started. The one that I thought when the Mayor talked about accountability We would finally receive it. Well I was wrong. I found the only thing this Mayor considers action is covering up the crime. As demonstrated by the Stop Signs below. My Main Gripe Police Report Number 030016937 8/25/2003 Location: 2226 Levern St The police were called before I got home at 6:30 PM. They
didn't show up until almost 9:00 PM. In their defense, they did at What was stolen? Hunting equipment, Computer games, and the heavy gun safe that the guns were locked in.
The Crime Scene: No one actually saw "Crack head John" John M Cadarette go in the house. However, many neighbors did report to police that they did see "Crack head John" John M Cadarette going up and down the guys driveway all day. It was the rear entrance door that was broken into. My father, who was there during the day to let my pit bulls out, even saw the guy. He drove back into Flint to talk to Police. After waiting almost an hour went home.
Evidence: Besides so many people seeing "Crack head John" John M Cadarette hanging around the house. The guy left a paper trail (YES CRACK HEADS ARE BRILLIANT). At Diane’s Pawn Shop, "Crack head John" John M Cadarette had pawned the victim's Binoculars. They sold them back to him after the term was up on the pawn. Now get this, In order to pawn the stolen Binoculars he had to give his license and sign the pawn ticket. WHICH HE DID! Then there was the phone call to Police that weekend. The neighbor on the corner of Levern St. Broadway and Bennett Ave. called them because "Crack head John" John M Cadarette had the M16 (AR-15) and was standing out on the corner shooting it at the stop sign. (pictured below, located at the Broadway and Bennett corner). Police never came out, never followed up. Never once even questioned the suspect. Nine bullet holes and the weapon has a ten round clip. Where did number ten go? And where did the rounds go that went through the sign? Correction/update 04/21/2006. I discovered today that Bill, the neighbor that called police about the sign below being shot at. Did actually talk to police approximately 45 minutes after the shooting. While police were on the scene. (parked at his house) Crackhead John with his buddies drove right past the officers. And Bill pointed him out to the officer as they drove by. Officers didn't even bother to pursue or follow up. So within an hour, police knew the whereabouts of the suspect and again refuse to act. When citizens stick their necks out and identify criminals (felons with stolen guns, shooting them off in the streets) police refuse to do anything . Doesn't sound like a "conspiracy of silence" or a "Don't Snitch" attitude to me. Why is it again that citizens don't or won't come forward?
Approximately a week after the break in. Police were called to a disturbance at 2218 Levern St. "Crack head John's" step kid (who was involved in the break in). Had an altercation with the tenant at the same house. Police came out and were going to arrest the Step son for outstanding bench warrants against him. He made a deal with the officer that he could tell "HER" who broke into the neighbor's house and where the Guns were, if she let him go. So the two of them hopped into the Police car and she took him over to point out the house on Torrance where the guns were being kept under a mattress in a bedroom. (Police wouldn't tell us which house it was for fear that we might talk the law into our own hands... Well shouldn't someone enforce the law?) He informed the officer of who was involved in the break in (omitting himself of course). Police were informed as to who had already purchased the M-16 from "Crack head John" John M Cadarette. (He didn't say a word about the Nintendo games that were in the back window of his car that had been stolen from the victim.) He even told the officer where they dumped the gun safe. I'm guessing that it ended up in up in one of Don's Dipsy Dumpsters on the eastside. So now it's two years later. What has been done? Don Williamson offers 3,000.00 for the gun used in a shooting. But won't make officers go after criminals before they use the guns. I have written to, Mayor Don Williamson, I have gone to his office to speak to him. I ended up speaking to Joe Wilson who took me to talk to the ASSt. Police Chief. (in Don's defense he was not mayor at the time of the crime) Outcome of that meeting: Had victim contact ASSt. Chief: Outcome of that meeting. Same answer for everything in Flint when dealing with the police. "Well what do you want me to do about it now.." we obviously dropped the ball.. its been almost two years.." My answer. HOW ABOUT DOING YOUR JOB that we the taxpayers are paying you for? Governor's Office. We will help you get in contact with the people locally that can address this matter. My response: But they are the problem. They won't address the matter. Governor's office. The state doesn't have the authority to by the state constitution to step in and take over. My response: yeah but they will send in Kurtz to take over the finances but won't do a thing about the crime. Thanks for nothing. Brenda Clack: I have written her office over FIVE times In two years NO RESPONSE!!! Senator Emerson: I basically got the same response form him as I got from the Governors' Office. And I responded the same way. ATF: They at least attempted to look into it. But that was a year after it happened. Haven't heard anything from them. Oh and I cannot forget about the suspect "Crack head John" John M Cadarette. I recently found out that about 6 months after he broke into the neighbors house. Him and one of his low life buddies, beat and raped a lady. Here the police did finally arrest him and he was prosecuted and is in Jackson Prison. However, My point is. Had the police done their job from the beginning. This low life felon, who prior to this was on parole when he broke into the house and stole the guns, been arrested then. The lady he beat and raped... it would never have happened her. I even called FOX 66. I was told and to paraphrase.. It is not news for this type of thing to be happening in Flint. It happens all the time. |
