Here is the FOIA request answer I have received concerning how many incidents and complaints the City of Flint Police received in 2005.

Analysis:

911 Stats show they received 124,428 calls for Police response.

The population of the City of Flint is 120,681 for 2005.

Chief Hagler says (talking about the forty community policing officers,"40 officers have responded to more than 22,000 calls, tagged more than 4,000 vehicles and made nearly 7,000 arrests"

This FOIA request shows 86,616 Incidents for the Flint Police Dept.

Subtract the 22,000 from the 86,616 and that leaves approximately 200 officers to handle 66,616 incidents.

That is 333 calls or incidents per officer, per year to handle.

Let's break it down even simpler. that is less than 1 incident per officer per day.

Basically. This is what I see. And I challenge anyone to find another way to beak this down.

If every officer in the Flint Police Department handled only one incident. Per day. There would be plenty of time left over. To patrol, and do community relations.
