These were 5 and 6 year-old children. I did my best to convince them that police officers are our friends.

Well keep trying Ms. Adams. It's becoming harder and harder for the people of Flint to swallow all the excuses and years of inaction, by the Flint police dept. I should start a page. that lists every excuse I've heard so far as to why they cannot do their job. What makes this even worse. Is that other Police Departments in the Flint area, can and will do something about crime.

The headline of "Police protection lacking" was a miss. Maybe you should have your kindergarteners grade the police on their performance. Just ask a little child. They will tell you. Exactly how it is.

I noticed you were from Burton. I know Burton Police would have done more than make excuses.

Police protection lacking

I would like to know why we even have Police. My daughter called Flint police today because her car windows had been smashed. She knew who did it. Blood and fingerprints were on the car, and the suspect has a felony record. His fingerprints and DNA are on record.

With all this knowledge, the police said, "Ma'am, this is not 'CSI: New York' or 'Miami.' We don't do that." After taking all the information, the officer on the phone told my daughter, "Just clean it up. In my 20 years of service I've never known of anyone coming out to take evidence in this kind of crime."

What kind of protection do we have in this city? What are police doing? This criminal has threatened my daughter's life twice. and has stolen from her before. The police did nothing then, either, even though there was video evidence.

Today, I showed a video about police officers being our heroes to my kindergarten class. The children argued about whether police were good guys or bad. These were 5- and 6-year-old children. I did my best to convince them that police officers are our friends. This is what I was taught in school.

Then I came home to hear what happened from my daughter. I believe that the police in this case are worse than the felon who smashed her car windows. My little kindergartners knew more than the video or their teacher.
